Sound Forms 2023: speaker, you

Location: Tai Kwun, Hong Kong
Date: 14 - 19 Nov 2023

Background Sound Forms is an annual sound art festival co-presented by Tai Kwun and Contemporary Musiking Hong Kong (CMHK). In the 2023 edition, the festival explored the intrinsic ambiguity of loudspeakers as a medium of communication, authority and agency.

Consisting of three performances and a workshop, supoorted by six international artists in total, in three groups of two, the programme showed the three roles of loudspeakers:

1.    Protagonised and personified characters
2.   Representations of artificial intelligence and consciousness
3.   Tools to convey truth and authority

RoleAs the Education and Public Programmes Coordinator, Kwong facilitated the communication with CMHK and artists on programme execution, including artist management, venue, content and programme production, ticketing, promotion, photo and video documentation.
